My name is Junko Otake. I have been teaching origami since 2018. When I first started, it was just to exercise and rehabilitate my hands, but the more I practiced, the more it grew into my passion, and ever since I have had a strong desire to share this wonderful joy of Origami. I would like to share with you the magical experience of transforming a simple piece of paper into a beautiful creation.
From a simple, flat, boring piece of paper arise objects of incredible beauty…that’s the ORIGAMI.
An artform that originated in 7th Century Japan, Origami not only provides the joy of creating, it helps develop focus and calmness, while exercising the mind in ways different from the routine of everyday life. Don’t worry about technique or folding perfectly. The Way of Origami is a process. This comes with time and practice as the mind/body connection strengthens between the hands and the brain. I would like to help you experience this joy as you start the adventure of your journey in Origami.
I not only will create works for you, I offer on -site teaching in the Boston area, and video classes on the internet. I look forward to walking together on this journey with you.
